Duck Situation
IMPORTANT NOTE: Version 2 is where the fun begins. Version 1 is in fact, a control. This game happens to also be part of a science experiment (more info below).
Duck Situation is an (incredibly) small game where you battle Evil Ducks, but the more you defeat them, the more the battle changes!
Thanks to MWMpl for the music, yomit for testing, and jsfxr for allowing me to make some sound effects that added a lot to the game.
Made in 17 days for a science experiment, on what changes to an RPG battle are the best (or most positively impactful on enjoyment) to put into an RPG battle! If you would like to participate in the experiment, you can fill out the survey here: https://forms.gle/1GonAaLpwuyM7RLa9
Controls:
WASD to navigate menus
E to enter
R to back out of menus
Space to do timed attacks (only past version 4)
Here's some funny info on the game:
For sound effects, I was highly worried on how I would do it. Thankfully for me, my ridiculousness allowed for some neat stuff. Some of the sound effects are made from audio clips from really random things. The Ice shard sound effect was made through a clip from January 2025 when I broke some ice. This wasn't even pre-planned, the clips just were around. Thankfully some of it was recorded, and that's where it's from. The pecking sound is made from a broken chromebook being broken against a tree, which is possibly the goofiest sound effect lore I have!
Either way, game's scuffed, whoops, but I'm happy with the result in the time spent!
